Shining Spirit started off in 2007, hosted on Freewebs and under the name Daisy Dreamland. It had a pink layout with butterflies on it and some bubbles that float around and a couple of pages. I made the website out of pure boredom and when the people who visited actually liked it, I said "why not?" and began to take the site more seriously. I added lots more content, images and tidied up a bit around the site. I was happy that the site was now a place worth visiting, but I felt that something was off. The content was fine -- nothing to worry about -- but the site's look was the thing that irked me to no end. Pink butterflies? Bubbles? Gotta go.
Then it hit me: I had no idea how to make a layout. I didn't want a Freewebs layout, that was for sure. I wanted something that was unique, not something Freewebs thought up for me. I just wanted to get creative with the look. Then I learned about the magical HTML & CSS. Thanks to me having no life and how fast I absorb useless stuff, I learned how to make the site look a whole lot better! :D I moved Daisy Dreamland to Geocities and left it there for a long time. Everything was okay there, I guess -- except for the idiotic ads that wasted 10 minutes of my life. I used to get so mad that I wouldn't want to visit my own site because I knew that the ads would take forever to load, causing my computer to freeze.
Then I decided to take action. I couldn't buy my own domain because I was like, what, 12? I only wasted my money on candy and soda. I couldn't beg my parents either; they would be like "There's some kids in this world that don't HAVE computers blah, blah, blah....." I searched Google for a free web host and found 110mb.com. I knew a couple of people who had their site hosted on it, so I tried it out. I really liked it because there was no stupid ads anywhere and it was free (who doesn't like free stuff?). So this brings you to the site you're looking at now. This site has grown so much over the years, and I could never abandon it no matter how rough times were. :)
This website was created by a very bored 10 year old a looooong time ago, with lots of dedication to her favorite Nintendo princess and with the appetite to learn more about coding & design. Even now it's still maintained, designed and everything by me, Bailey. You can really do just about anything if you really set your mind to it and always give it your best shot! :)
